What will Heaven be like?  You may be surprised.  There will be work to do, so you won’t be bored.  Remember, it’s not going to be the same kind of work as we do here in earth because we’re not going to feel the same.  The work here on Earth is the result of Adam’s sin.  The new Heaven and the new Earth will be a place of perfect peace and rest.

“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” – Revelation 14:13

There will be a lot of things that will keep us busy for all eternity and one of them, is that God will have work for us that we will enjoy.  That’s the difference between earth and Heaven.

“And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him.” – Revelation 22:3

We are going to serve God. But remember, we’re not going to get tired, it’s not the same as it is right now.  The Bible doesn’t tell us exactly what we will do, but it won’t be a burden.  It will only be joy for all eternity.

If you’re going to go to Heaven, you’re going to think differently than you do now.

“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” – 1 Corinthians 13:12

This doesn’t mean that we will know everything because only God knows everything. All the questions you had before of: “God, why did this happen?”, “God, why did that happen?”, “Why did my brother die?”, “Why did my dad die?” All these questions will be answered to you one day.  You will understand things more clearly, and with that new perspective, you will live in the new Heaven and the new earth.

With the new Heaven and with the new Earth we’re going to live in houses.

“And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.” – Isaiah 65:21

It will be similar to what we have right now.  Imagine how that’s going to look like, how it’s going to be like, living in this new, amazing, perfect world.

“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” – John 14:2

Mansions correctly translated is ‘dwellings’.

We will see each other in Heaven again; You’ll be reunited with loved ones, if they loved the Lord, if they served Him, and if they were reborn Christians.  You will see them again in Heaven after this temporary earth. Paul also wrote to believers that were grieving after they lost a loved one.

16 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

David also talks about his son that passed away but he knew that he would see him again.

“But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.” – 2 Samuel 12:23

Jesus also says,

“And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 8:11

You will still be you and you will still have emotions.  God made us in His image and He gave us emotions and through the Bible, we also read that God Himself has emotions like love, joy, gladness, delight, hate, jealousy, happiness, and more. The Bible also says that it will be banquets and feasts and singing in Heaven.  What about the bad emotions?  Will you be sad, will you cry?

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” – Revelation 21:4

All the painful things that you hate in this world that is caused by sin – God will stop it all.  He will stop all the suffering of the poor, the cries of those who’re abused.  All these things will stop. He will wipe away every tear and He will make all things new.

So no, you will not experience pain and suffering in the new Heaven and the new Earth.

You won’t miss your old life.  Heaven could be far greater than that.  There’s no way that you will miss the old earth with all its problems, if you compare it with the new Heaven and Earth.

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” – Isaiah 65:17

You will also have a real body in Heaven.  Some Christians said that you will only be a spirit, and some other Christians even said that some people will become an angel.  That is not true; that’s not what the Bible teaches us. God gave our bodies to us and one day he will unite our soul with our bodies.   Our new, glorified body will never grow old, never grow tired, and never get sick.

42 “So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.” – 1 Corinthians 15:42-44

The spiritual body is the immortal body, the one that cannot die, and the one that is made for Heaven, for all eternity.  The Bible doesn’t tell us exactly what this spiritual body will be like, but it does tell us something very interesting:

47 “The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.” 1 Corinthians 15:47-49

It basically tells us that our new spiritual bodies will be like the body of Jesus Christ after His resurrection, which means you will have a new glorified body in the new Heaven and the new Earth.

We will live in a whole new world.  Most Christians only talk about Heaven, but God is also going to make a whole new Earth.

24 “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord.” – Isaiah 65:24-25

Imagine living in this kind of world.

1”And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.” – Revelation 21:1-3

Heaven is a real home.  The Bible is very clear that this world that we live in right now is temporary, it is not our home – we’re just passing by.

“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 3:20

Conversation in the above text also can mean “citizenship”.  Heaven is where all reborn Christians will finally feel fully at home.  With God, with our brothers and sisters in Christ, with the Angels.  A place where you’re accepted, and a place where you have rest for your soul.

And if you’re not sure that you will go to Heaven.  What are you waiting for? What is stopping you?  This world is only temporary, it will fade away, and you will lose your soul with it.

26 “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.” – Matthew 16:26-28

What good will it do you, to try and have the whole world, to live for the things of this world, but you lose your soul? You want to be rich, and you want to live fully for the lusts for this world.  You can, but the consequences of it, is not in your control.  When you die, you leave it all behind and it means nothing. What matters at the end?  There are only two places that you can go to – Heaven or Hell.  The choice is yours.

Do you know Jesus?  Are you prepared to meet Him?  How do you prepare?  There is just one way into Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ.  He died for your sins on the cross.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6

Are you prepared to meet God?  This is the most important decision that you can make in your life.  You must take this seriously.  If you repent of all your sins and believe in Jesus Christ, you will be saved.

9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” – Romans 10:9-10

Make sure that you are ready to meet God.  How do you do that?  You pray and you talk to God. You ask God to forgive you all the sins that you’ve done.  You repent of all your sins, and that means to turn away from your old sinful life and you start a whole new life with God.
